Pay-per-click Advertising

Firstly, let me explain what is pay per click advertising. As seen from the screen shot below, I have boxed up in red a column. This space is where those paid advertisements will appear in google.
This is another form of paid advertising online. If I were to advertise using keywords, “Make Money Online”, this will show up in the right of the google search result page.

However as the name itself suggest, “Pay-per-click” means you as the advertiser, using this space to advertise yourself on google, will have to pay google the advertisement fee. This fee is based on pay per click, which means that you will need to pay whenever someone click on your advertisement. So take note to advertise effectively or you might just end up paying a lot of advertisement fees but not getting the sales you want.

Therefore you have to choose the keyword carefully, in such a way that is targeted at your intended audience. For example, instead of using keyword like “Make Money”, you could narrow it down to something that you are targeting at like “Make Money Blogging”. In this way, you have captured only those who are relevant and interested in what you have got to sell them, and these people who click on your site are more potential buyers.

Before deciding on the keyword, you could go to google keyword tool to check on the search volume of that particular keyword on google. Higher search volume will mean that more people are looking for that particular niche and this is worth going into. You can find this free google tool here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. I will be covering more on the google keyword tool in my next posting.

Beside this tool, another additional tool you can use is the spyfu tool: http://www.spyfu.com/
This is a very powerful tool whereby you can spy on what your competitors are using as their keywords and just copy the right keywords to achieve fast and effective results like your competitors!

The above is the results shown for keyword “make money online”. As you can see, it shows you the cost per click that these competitors are paying for keywords above, between $0.78 to even as high as $3.07. The more popular the keyword is, the more it cost.

It will also show you the number of advertisers. The more advertisers indicates that this niche is worth going into, however might also mean that it is highly competitive and you have to offer something that is better than what your competitors is giving.

You will also find that it will list the top 5 competitors who are advertising using the keywords and click into their website to check them out.
Hope this information is useful to you in searching for your effective keywords and look out for my next article where I will guide you on how to use the google keyword tool to effectively study the right keywords to use. :)

Articles Marketing

One of the most powerful advertising tool that many successful online marketers use is through article marketing. This involves writing articles with good contents and submit them to articles submission sites, with your website link at the end of the article.

This work in a few ways:

  • People who read your article will see your link and might click into your blog, thus you gain traffic and possible sale or subscriber to your blog
  • Those who find your content useful might use your article on their website and they got to include your link if they want to republish it. Thus this is free advertising and link to your own blog as well

However, do exercise care in writing articles with content that you think will benefit your readers and they will find it useful. You wouldn’t want others to think that they have just wasted a couple of minutes reading rubbish. You want them to be interested in the content and if possible, draw them to your blog or even republish it on their websites. As the saying goes, if what you provide does not help someone, they will not help you too.

Most of the article submission sites will have a resource box where you can place your links to your blog and promote on your background as well. Overall, write things that is credential to you so as to increase confidence of readers and make them think that you can help them.
There is also a summary column whereby you will write some short sentences. This will be the short sentences that appear at the main page of all the articles under the topic. It provides a brief idea of what readers can expect to read about if they click into the article. Do not under-estimate the importance of these few short sentences. More than often, people will scan through the various articles’ summary and pick to read those with summary that interest them. Therefore, you should spend some time drafting these few sentences that you think can draw people’ attention.

Finally, where to submit your articles? There are 2 ways to submit articles online. You can either submit articles manually to individual sites which is time-consuming or send them automatically using an article submission software.

For a start, I would recommend those of you who are budget-constrain to do it manually first. These are the few important sites that you should not miss submitting articles to. If you do not have the time, at least send to these places:

Good Luck in writing your blog and continue to stay tuned to my next marketing tool on "Pay Per Click".

Make Money Online - Increase Traffic
If you were to ask people out there whether they were getting traffic for their sites, most of them would be troubled by this “traffic” problem. There are couples of ways to generate traffic:
· Submit your articles to articles submission sites
· Pay-per-click google search engine advertisements
· Get people to subscribe to your blog
· Build links to popular related niche sites
· Participate actively in forums
· Comment on related niche sites

The unattractive part of “Pay per click” is that you have to pay for it. For me, I would recommend using some of the above, not all, to generate traffic to your blog. I shall go into details in each of those topics highlighted above.

Look out for my next posting on "Article Marketing", one of the most popular and free advertising you can find online that works for your online business.
